As part of the 2025 Financial Stability Report publication, the Commission’s Research Department is preparing an in-depth article offering key insights on the performance of Barbados’ and other regional stock exchanges.
Informed by recent international engagement, the article will examine structural deterioration in stock exchange activity and its correlation with financial stability risks in small open economies.
The article will delve into key developments in local and regional markets, including the implications of market reform and expanding investor reach.
The Financial Stability Report is a joint publication between the Financial Services Commission and the Central Bank of Barbados. The report provides a comprehensive assessment of the risk exposures of key financial institutions, including domestic deposit-taking institutions (commercial banks, finance companies, and credit unions), insurance companies, mutual funds, and pension funds. This document remains a key instrument for promoting transparency and accountability in financial sector oversight by analysing recent trends in financial soundness indicators, institutional balance sheets, and income statements.
Stay tuned for its release!
